Aileron Therapeutics, Inc. (“Company,” “we” or “us”) respects the privacy of our website visitors. This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) describes how we collect, use, and disclose information in connection with this website (the “Site”). Our Site allows you to learn more about Aileron and contact us. By using the Site or contacting us through the Site, you are agreeing to the terms of this Policy.

Information We Collect

We collect both Personal Information and Other Information about visitors to our Site, as described below. For purposes of this Policy, “Personal Information” means information we can directly associate with a specific person without any additional information, such as an email address or phone number. “Other Information” means any information that is not Personal Information. We may combine Other Information and Personal Information, in which case we will treat the combined information as Personal Information.

We may also combine Personal Information or Other Information we have about you with additional information that we or third parties collect in other contexts – like when we communicate with you by phone or email. In those circumstances, we will treat the combined information in accordance with this Policy.

Personal Information. We collect Personal Information from you when you provide it to us using a form on the Site or when you send us an email through the Site. We may collect information such as your:

  • First and last name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Company affiliation

Other information you choose to provide to us in your email or through a free text field on the form.

Other Information. We also collect Other Information automatically when you visit our Site. This may include information such as your IP address and domain name, your Internet service provider, the time and duration of your visit, how you used the Site (including pages viewed and actions taken), the URLs from the websites you visit before and after navigating to the Site, your operating system and browser type, your software and hardware attributes, and your general geographic location (for example, your city, state, or metropolitan region). We collect this information using the following technologies:

Server Logs. When you use the Site, we automatically receive and record certain information from your computer (or other device) and your browser. To obtain such information, we may use server logs or applications that recognize your computer and gather information about its online activity.

Cookies. We also use cookies on the Site. Cookies are small files that are stored on your computer (or other device) by your web browser. A cookie allows the Site to recognize whether you have visited before and may store user preferences and Other Information. If you are concerned about having cookies on your computer, you can set your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being set, allowing you to decide whether to accept it. You can also delete cookies from your computer. However, if you choose to block or delete cookies, certain features of the Site may not operate correctly.

Pixel tags. The Site or the emails that you receive from us may use an application known as a “pixel tag” (also known as a “clear gif” or “web beacon”). A pixel tag is an electronic tracking mechanism that usually consists of a single-pixel image. It can be embedded in a web page or in an email to transmit information, which could include Personal Information. For example, it allows an email sender to determine whether a user has opened a particular email.

We may partner with certain third parties to collect, analyze, and use some of the information described above. For example, we may allow third parties to set cookies or use pixel tags on the Site or in email communications from us. This information may be used for a variety of purposes, including analytics, as described in the “Third-Party Analytics” section below.

Third-party plugins. The Site may have certain third-party plug-ins (such as a Facebook “like” button and Twitter “follow” button). Even if you do not click on these plug-ins, they may collect information about you, such as your IP address and the pages you view. They may set or access a cookie. These plugins are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing them.

De-identified or aggregated information. We may also share de-identified or aggregated information about Site users, such as by creating reports on trends in the usage of the Site.

Third-Party Analytics and Targeted Advertising

We partner with certain third parties to collect Other Information to engage in analytics, auditing, research, and reporting. These third parties may use web logs, pixel tags, or other tracking mechanisms and they may set and access cookies on your computer or device. Our Site uses Google Analytics to help collect and analyze certain information for the purposes discussed above. You may opt out of the use of cookies by Google Analytics here. Our website currently does not respond to “do not track” browser headers or similar signals.

Security

Our Site uses commercially reasonable physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect Personal and Other Information against loss or unauthorized access, use, modification, or deletion.
